The People’s Health Movement is organizing a webinar on April 19th on the stigmatization of health workers in contexts of armed conflict. Worldwide health workers are facing different kinds of repression; significant part of them are stigmatized or red-tagged when working in conflict zones. They are portrayed as the enemy. And if they persist and continue to deliver health services, they are often victims of death threats. Some of them are murdered.
The webinar will focus on 3 cases from different parts of the world, with 3 amazing speakers:
- The Colombian case of Maria Cristina Cobo Mahecha -> speaker: Dr. Deisy Arrubla
- The Filipino case of Dr. Naty Castro -> speaker: Dr. Joshua San Pedro
- The Palestinian case of the Health Work Committees (HWC) -> speaker: Ayman Ibrahim
