The People’s Health Movement organized a webinar on Universal Health Coverage (UHC) during the Be-cause health conference Breaking taboos in Global Health on March 23-24, 2023. The webinar discusses the privatization of public health through “strategic purchasing” and how it undermines the development of a strong and vibrant public health system. Countries of both the global south and the north share its experiences on the UHC initiatives that lead to further commercialization and commodification of healthcare.
